Huntsville Restaurant Guide: 2024
Welcome to the Rocket City! In 2022, U.S. News ranked Huntsville as the best place to live in America. We have been holding steady in the top 5 the last 2 years. No doubt, the quality of life is a big part of that. I relocated here with my family, and if you’re from a big city like us, one of the first questions you might ask is where are the great restaurants around town?
Huntsville doesn’t disappoint. I wanted to share a few of the great places we enjoy with you!

This spot downtown is by far our favorite restaurant in Huntsville. It’s a staple on the date night rotation. It’s a nice place, but with a casual, modern vibe. The food is unique and comfortable all at the same time. Great steak, fish and even the burger is tasty. The bar and cocktails are a hit as well.

This is the downtown “fine dining” destination. White tablecloths and all the trappings, so you might feel out of place if you don’t dress up a little! The food is a modern American. I highly recommend the short ribs, they are stellar.
The opposite of white tablecloths, but this is the best casual Mexican spot in town. They have a few locations across Huntsville and Madison. You order at the counter, but I find the people and service to be far above your typical fast-casual establishment. In the spring and fall, they open the garage doors, so the entire place is indoor / outdoor. Great spot for the whole family. Check out the Alabama Redneck Tacos, and don’t sleep on the salad bowls either!
Edgars is a great café for breakfast and lunch. They have locations in Huntsville and two in Madison. In addition to being a great place to grab a bite to eat, I think Edgar’s is the best bakery around. All the baked goods they sell in the store are amazing. I particularly like the orange rolls and we order their cakes to celebrate, well everything!
Homemade Pizza!
One thing we never found was a great Pizza spot, plus we were stuck at home during the pandemic. So, we decided to perfect our homemade pizza recipe on Friday nights. Fast forward a few years, and probably a few hundred pizzas, and we think it’s the best around.
