Brian in The Wall Street Journal: What 7% Mortgage Rates Mean for Home Buyers

Brian Seay had a great exchange with Veronica Dagher from the Wall Street Journal on the impact of high rates on home buyers.

Here are a few highlights that you can use or share with friends or family that are in the market:

  1. Timing the market for houses is just as challenging as timing the stock market. Prices rise in most years and can leave you behind if you wait too long.

  2. Consider a new build. Homebuilders have the unique ability to offer incentives and rate adjustments.

  3. This house does not have to be your “forever home.” Very few buyers end up living in a home for 30 years or more. So buy a home you can afford and trade up later.
